Global Medic Assist Program: Sending Our Heroes into the World

Every day Utah Firefighters, Paramedics, EMTs and other First Responders put their lives on the line for us. They run into burning buildings, they bring loved ones back to life, they keep someone alive until they get to the hospital, and they hold the hands of our loved one as he or she passes away. They work long hours in emotionally draining and physically challenging places.

Supporting EMT Utah Volunteer Corps and the Global Medical Assist program provides an opportunity for these heroes to travel abroad to use their knowledge and skill keeping humanitarian expeditioners safe in some of the most dangerous and remote places on earth. Whether it is building a school, digging a well or clearing land for a sustainable project in a local village, these men and women participate and protect the work these humanitarians perform on behalf of others.

Our firefighters and paramedics talk about how grateful they are for these opportunities and how the experience changed their lives. “Being able to see Nepal for myself while helping others stay safe while we rebuilt schools devastated by the earthquakes was an amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience. I will never forget the work we did or the kind people we served. I appreciate EMT Utah Volunteer Corps for making this available for us in Utah.” ~ Tyson Aston, Sandy Fire Department

Your donation will pay for the supplies we send on each trip including AEDs, epi-pens, bandages, medicine, IV bags, and more. These supplies are expensive and a bag can cost as much as $10,000. Restocking the bag after a trip is costly too. No medic pays to go on the trip, but they do give up wages and often use valuable vacation time to serve. Your donation helps us help others. All donations for the Global Medic Assist Program goes directly for trip expenses including administrative costs, medical supplies, shirts, Medical Director oversight etc. All donations are 100% tax deductible. EMT Utah Volunteer Corps is a 501-c3 Utah based Non-Profit.
